hello,
my friends and me want get a little tzar cummunity running. that for we want to create a website. features should be mod releases, map downloads, list of running games, autoupdater for maps and mod. the idea is to manage it using hamachi channel or real vpn network connections. i would prefer real vpn because its easy to manage the accounts using php and there wont be a limit for the number of players into the network.
my questions:
- are we allowed to use ingame grafiks for the webdesign?
- are we allowed to modify the data, data2, images.... WDT files?
- are there other people who would join the cummunity?
- does anyone got a clue how many people still play tzar on hamachi networks?
- is there anyone of you who could support our idea with a rootserver (windows) for the vpn network?
- do you think its worth it? |

you need to ask that FX Interactive.
I doubt they refuse that. _________________ it's loading now, so shut up and sit down! |

Thanks for your email. It's has been a while since Tzar was relased and it's a pleasure to hear that people still enojoy the game.
You're allowed to use graphics elements from Tzar on your web site. You can modify all files included in the game as long as you keep them to yourself and your friends and do not use them for comercial purposes.
Kind regards,
Haemimont Games team

its confirmed we are allowed to use the ingame gfx and modify the WDT files. √
Thanks a lot for this to Haemimont Games
now we got this questions left:
- are there other people who would join the cummunity?
- does anyone got a clue how many people still play tzar on hamachi networks?

an idea for the mod is (not sure its possible, but at the moment its looks like):
- 4th folk
-castle = Evil Castle,
-unitbarracks = Magicgate
-other structures should be possible to create out of already included stuffs too
-units = orks, skelets, messiahs on lower HP etc |

I have a clue. Polish community still plays Tzar on hamachi networks. I'm not sure about it, but there are about 20-30 active players and more than 50 who play not frequently. Link www.tzar.fora.pl to Polish forum.
653 users, more than 25000 replies.
You did might not notice it(i've written on this forum) but we've already created a new patch to Tzar. Actually it is even newer version, 1.13a.

Let me make it clear - its impossible
VPN networks sounds great, there was even a project of such in Polish community, but wasn't completed. Playing by hamachi makes lots problems, but i know nothing about creating and supporting something like that. Invite our IRC channel #tzar on quakenet.org so we will talk about it a little. You can also write something in here http://www.tzar.fora.pl/english,49/ on Polish forum.
btw, would be useful to know how have you contacted someone of haemimont team :X |

i would join and have played tzar in every version and i must say the AI in the first version is the strongest. the newer version make the units get caught on glitches to often and although the gameplay seems balanced its not even with the 1.12 patch. i havent played with the 1.13 cuz im stuck in bulgarian but ill work on it this week.
i know what needs to be done to balance the gameplay but its not gonna happen. i played TZAR, STARCRAFT, WOW2 and OUTLIVE
sorry i havent been active. let me know about this forums/website you plan on making. i can join and have tons of maps that are balanced and are fire!!!! about 10 at least that i made in a few weeks and can make more asap for different styles of play(no garbage noob maps, im actually a good player...) i would have more but i like to make maps that are brutal looking and have great playability. _________________ DrakeLucas@Gmail.com |
